Woods Spirits
As you walk thru the woods with trees overhead,
You can feel a presence, or so it's been said.
The eyes are upon you, as you stroll thru the trees,
It is the Woodspirit who hides in the leaves.
The forest is home to Woodspirits a' plenty,
The sightings are few, but the numbers are many.
A walk thru the woods... a glance at a branch,
A glimpse of a Woodspirit happens by chance.
From their roots that are anchors, to the tips of their leaves,
They are the caretakers of all that they see.
If you enter the forest with intensions of evil,
A Woodspirit's wrath can cause an upheaval.
Tho their face is hidden beneath the bark,
It is said you can see one if you have a true heart.
Can hair be feathers? Can beards be leaves?
The Woods Spirits live for all who believe.
Is it man or beast? Woman or bird?
Any combination of these is what I've heard.
Their life is eternal, or so I've been told,
The Spirit of the Woods wears the face of the old.
Tho their numbers are many, their sightings are few,
